Maniche 72 is a scaled up version of Maraya 66 Design. This is the basic platform that was used to build the Oasis 72 Production cat.

Maniche features twin raised helms with all sail controls including the mainsheet and traveller leading to one or both helm stations according to owner's preference.

Maraya had the mast on the deck forward of the cabin with halyards and headsail sheets leading aft to organisers and winches beside the helm station. For Oasis we moved the mast onto the cabin top, effectively reducing mainsail area and increasing the percentage of sail area that can be easily controlled with headsail furlers.

It also moves the centre of effort of the aft, further promoting performance in fresh conditions.

The aft beam on Maraya is well forward of the transoms. This keeps the centre of gravity just a few percentage points aft of the mast position and allows us to use a fairly flat rocker line for the hulls, much like our earlier designs including Cut Loose and the Chincogan 52 production cats. The flatter rocker minimises pitching and promotes better performance in the higher speed range.

Oasis 72 required a much larger cockpit area and a lifting platform for the tender, and so we increased the overall hull displacement and moved the centre of buoyancy aft to counter the extra weight aft.

The cockpit is not really a cockpit in the conventional sense in that the helms and all of the sail controls lead to the helm stations outboard of the cockpit which more appropriately should probably be called "the aft deck". It's  very generous area open to the provision of lounging and dining areas.

The raised helm station remains as designed for Maraya and the other cats in the  M Series. For Oasis there is the option of an internal helm station as well as the raised helms outboard of the cockpit area.

Manufacture of the tooling for Oasis 72 is now under way at MouldCam in the UK. For enquiries about the Oasis 72 production version contact Guido Achtelik at Holld Marine.
